Nighttime Bloom

Dubai in 100 Days || Day 10:

A city so beautiful that, even in nighttime, can bloom on its own.

Indoor Trees

Dubai in 100 Days || Day 8:

I think I need to talk about the trees inside the malls here in Dubai. In the Philippines, it is seldom that I see a real, full-grown natural tree inside a mall. That’s why I am SO impressed with the way these plants are part of the buildings’ architecture.

And please allow me to point out that the malls here are pretty AWESOME. Like, really GOOD.

Now, the fact the these gorgeous shopping malls have actual trees in it and birds flying around — the fact that they incorporated nature with their grand designs — make everything more unbelievably beautiful.

Dubai in 100 Days || Day 7:

I have seen pigeons before, but I haven’t seen pigeons who would chill by the window everyday and pose for pictures and cross the streets, walking.

They fly, they walk, and I even saw one running!

I can now die in peace. :)

Dearest Tiny Light,

Dubai in 100 Days || Day6

I know you’re not as strong anymore.. I know you feel small in this city full of glorious  skyscrapers. I know how much you crave for inner silence in this world full of outer noise. I know how much you want to be swallowed by darkness and claim your well-craved peace.

But, listen.

You may just be a tiny light in the world full of darkness, and you might not think of it as important, but you see, it’s your tiny bit of light that makes all the difference. Your light — your tiniest, inessential light — may be someone’s only guide towards hope. You may be someone’s sole source of light.

The world is not dark. It is just full of tiny people who decided to extinguish their light because they, too, felt unimportant. It is just full of millions of broken, forgotten, neglected tiny lights who chose to not make that small difference that they are capable of because they, too, felt like they have nothing to contribute.

Do you see it now? Light is not an absence of darkness. Rather, darkness is simply the absence of light.

And the light is — and has always, ALWAYS been — in our hands.

Life a la Mode

Dubai in 100 Days || Day 5:

Because EVERYTHING is just better a la mode ;) Another thing I love about this city is the number and variation of restaurants and cafes all over the place. All your cravings for international or local dishes, desserts and drinks — they got you (and your happy tummy) covered. :)

The Tragedy of the Stars

Dubai in 100 Days || Day 4:

What if the reason why

There are no stars in the sky

Is because the beautiful

Burning ball of fire

Fell in love so hard

With the dark, mysterious city

That they jumped

Off the Eastern sky

Just to be with her

And forever grant her wishes?

Waiting —

the game that life

never gets tired of

playing with us.
